Taking place March 6-8, in San Diego, CA, the BIG IDEAS conference offers the industry a forum to discuss the future of UV and EB technologies.

Baldwin Technology Co.’s AMS Spectral UV division will showcase its latest lineup of industrial curing solutions at the RadTech BIG IDEAS for UV+EB Technology Conference. Baldwin will discuss solutions engineered to deliver the highest speeds, power, dose and scalability for LED curing of inks, coatings and adhesives. Taking place March 6-8, 2023, at the Wyndham San Diego Bayside hotel, the BIG IDEAS conference offers the industry a forum to discuss the future of UV and EB technologies while learning more about the applications and science that will enable developments two years, five years and 10 years down the road. Topics will include 3D printing, additive manufacturing, UV LED, printing, automotive, data-driven materials and more. Taking center stage, the patented XP Quatro Series is AMS Spectral UV’s latest evolution for high-speed, high-performance LED UV curing. Hosting two large LED UV arrays, the Quatro Series delivers double the available power of a standard LED solution at a lower cost than two individual lamps while operating at top industrial speeds, driving increased productivity and profitability. The XP Quatro Series boasts the ability to emit two different wavelengths from the same head, so with deep, layered substrates, for instance, the longer wavelengths can penetrate further, and in applications that require simultaneous powerful surface curing, the shorter waves can achieve this at the same time. Additionally, in applications with dual chemistry on one substrate both can be perfectly cured simultaneously. Baldwin provides curing solutions to many industrial markets, including auto parts, wood/furniture, cans, EV battery, medical consumables, metal coatings and converting. On March 7, Kevin Joesel, Baldwin’s AMS Spectral UV Industrial sales executive for the Americas, will be presenting a session on how Baldwin’s technology has changed what’s needed for LED UV curing on 3D objects and surfaces. Joesel’s career spans 35 years in the industry and has been focused the last 20 years on industrial curing with UV, LED UV and microwave technology. “AMS Spectral UV’s peak optics, or as I prefer to call it ‘side fire LEDs’ for the XP series of lamps decreases the rate of the loss of irradiance by more than an order of magnitude. The most recent product family, Quatro, takes this a stop further,” says Joesel. “During the BIG IDEAS conference, I’ll be discussing how Baldwin’s AMS Spectral UV has eliminated the idea that UV LEDs need to be within millimeters of the target to cure a coating or ink in three-dimensional parts.” “When producers are ready to make use of the highest LED UV doses to scale up their manufacturing lines and increase them to the highest speeds, we should be the first company they call,” states Jonathan Fore, AMS Spectral UV’s commercial lead. “Our new XP Quatro is like putting curing afterburners on your production line.” Manufactured in the US and built using quality materials and powerful LED architecture, the XP Quatro Series is designed to withstand nonstop use in tough conditions and high-productivity environments that require a rugged, resilient curing module.
